Banda Romanos

Banda Romanos formed in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2001, originally calling themselves Banda Los Romanos. Their early lineup included Juan Carlos, Julián Álvarez, Cruz Lizárraga, and Jorge Medina. They started with the traditional banda brass and percussion sound common in that region, but began working in other rhythms fairly quickly.

Songs like "Bom" and "Amigo" became popular enough to get radio play and festival bookings. Their catalog includes straightforward banda numbers alongside tracks that borrow from norteño and pop. They've recorded songs with titles like "Amor Verdadeiro" and "Ao Pé da Cruz," which suggest both romantic and devotional themes.

In 2011, lead vocalist Cruz Lizárraga left the group to pursue solo work, which led to some public disagreement and legal proceedings. The band has continued performing with other singers since then, touring in Mexico, the United States, and parts of Latin America.
