Banda Romantismo formed in Guadalajara in 2003, with Jorge Orozco, Carlos Rodríguez, and Francisco Suárez as original vocalists. They worked within the banda tradition but leaned toward romantic themes, which gave them their name.
Their song "Amor Verdadeiro" became their biggest hit. The group went through lineup changes in 2008 when Orozco and Suárez left, and Rodríguez brought in new singers including Saul Hernández and Javier Rodríguez. They released albums like Amor Verdadero in 2004 and El Amor No Se Compra in 2006.
There were some legal disputes with former members over treatment and pay, but those were resolved in court. The band kept recording through the 2010s with albums like Por Siempre En Mi Mente and Vivir Sin Ti.
