Their sound initially met some resistance from more traditional church circles, but they kept at it. In 1997, their album 'Caminhos' changed things. The title track became a hit, pushing the band into a wider national spotlight.
That success came with some pushback from critics who felt they were commercializing gospel music, and from conservative churches who saw their style as too secular. The band kept going anyway, releasing albums like 'Raízes do Evangelho' in 2000 and 'Promessas' in 2003.
The current lineup includes Elizeu Gomes on lead vocals, Sérgio Gomes on guitar, Marquinhos Gomes on bass, Cristiano Gomes on drums, and Alex Gomes on keyboards. They put out another album called 'Eternamente' in 2010.
