Banda Tecno Tribal came out of Salvador, Brazil in the mid-1990s with a sound that mixed axé music and techno. Their first album was called "Axé, Techno & Tribal." The group had Carla Cristina on vocals, Robson Lima on drums, Jorge Coelho on bass, and Alexandre Alves on keyboards.
Some people thought it was advocating drug use, though the band said it was just portraying life as they saw it. They kept making music through the late 1990s and early 2000s, putting out several more albums after that first one.
