Banda Telégrafo formed in Salvador, Bahia in the early 2000s with Tiago Iorc on vocals and guitar, Rafael Rocha on drums, and Gustavo Schirmer on bass. Their 2006 debut album "Mais Perto do Sol" included the ballad "Eu Quero Estar Onde Você Está," which became a national hit in Brazil.
Iorc left the band in 2007 to pursue a solo career, and the remaining members continued as a trio. They released albums like "Viva a Vitória" in 2008 and had other songs including "Se o Tempo Voa" and "Só Por Hoje."
In 2010, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding their song "A Última Noite," which was said to resemble another artist's work.
