Banda Waly formed in Salvador, Bahia in the early 1990s around vocalist and songwriter Waly Salomão, who had previously worked as a journalist and political activist. They put out albums like 'Bahia Com S' in 1994, 'Ébrio' in 1997, and 'Olho de Boi' in 2001.
Their music mixed samba, rock, and electronic elements. Another track, 'Estarei Melhor Sem Você,' appears among their most recognized songs.
The band featured a rotating lineup that included multi-instrumentalist Letieres Leite and percussionist Carlinhos Brown at different points. Waly Salomão remained the central figure until his death in 2003.
