Banda Chosen was a trio from São Paulo that formed in the late 1970s. They had Luiz Caldas on vocals and guitar, Nicolau Campos on bass, and Júlio César on drums. Their sound drew from Brazilian folk and rock, with some influence from Candomblé traditions.
In 1983 they released "3 Ratos Cegos," a song about betrayal that became a national hit in Brazil. The band maintained their music was meant to inspire.
They put out a self-titled debut album in 1984, followed by "A Máscara" in 1986. Other songs in their catalog include "Judas," "Primeiro Encontro," "Apostasia," and "Cotidiano."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
