Bando de Régia formed in Salvador da Bahia in 1993, led by Carlinhos Brown. Their debut album came out in 1996 and included the track "Kama Fruta." The band's sound mixed Afro-Brazilian traditions with more contemporary urban elements.
They released several albums after that first one, including "Ocidente Acústico" in 1998, "Bahia ao Vivo" in 2000, and "Cabeça de Nós Todos" in 2003. Other songs in their catalog include "Deus Abençoe o Forró" and "Clarear."
The lineup changed at times, with Brown remaining a central figure.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
