Barba Negra is a Portuguese band fronted by vocalist Paulo Gonzo. They released their debut album 'Brincadeira das Artes' in 1996, followed by later albums like 'A Porta do Inverno' in 2002 and 'Sopro' in 2005. Their songs include 'Alguém' and 'Diamante Negro'.
Other members have included guitarist Tó Zé Bexiga, bassist Luís Pedro Madeira, and drummer Hugo Rodrigues. In 2009, Gonzo's lyrics criticizing the Prime Minister drew some public backlash. The band's music has appeared in films and television shows, and they've performed at festivals outside Portugal.
