Base Oculta formed in São Paulo's underground scene in 1982, with an original lineup of vocalist Rogério Fernandes, guitarist Ricardo Rizzo, bassist Ricardo Gas, and drummer Cláudio Heinz. Their raw, energetic sound drew comparisons to punk acts like the Ramones and The Damned.
In 1986, the band released their self-titled debut album, which featured the track "Dois Por Dois." The song became an instant hit, propelling Base Oculta to national prominence.
Base Oculta continued releasing albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including "Guerra Fria" in 1994, "Efeito Morfina" in 1999, and "Gigante Doido" in 2007. Other songs like "Moradores do Mundo" and "Tentativas" also appear in their catalog.
