Baseado Na Palavra came out of the Brazilian rock scene in the late 1980s. The band had Alexandre Aposan on vocals and guitar, Márcio Gasperini on bass, and André Cordeiro on drums.
Their song 'Apenas Anjos Podem Voar' became a breakout hit around 1989. The lyrics dealt with faith and offered something to people feeling marginalized, which connected with listeners at the time.
They put out several albums through the 1990s, including 'Correndo Contra o Tempo' in 1991 and 'Luz do Mundo' in 1993. Another track, 'Vale de Espinhos,' also appeared among their work. Their straightforward rock and pop sound carried lyrics that were openly spiritual, which drew some criticism along with their following.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
