Their debut album 'Que Molejo É Esse?' came out in 1996, and the title track became a national hit in Brazil. The song was about the sensual dance style called molejo.
Their lyrics often dealt with social and political issues, which drew criticism from some quarters and led to conflicts with record labels. They kept making music that blended samba, funk, and hip-hop, with later albums like 'Samba Não É Solução' and 'Rappa Mundi' showing that range.
After their debut, they released several more albums through the 2000s, including 'Carioca' in 2001 and 'Fuzuê' in 2006. The band's sound mixed traditional Brazilian rhythms with urban influences without sticking to one genre.
