BB Brunes

BB Brunes formed in Bordeaux around 2005 with Adrien Gallo on vocals and guitar, Félix Hemmen on guitar, and Karim Réveillé on bass. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2007 and included the single 'Dis Moi,' which got some attention for its direct lyrics about desire. The band had a knack for catchy, guitar-driven tunes that felt immediate, like 'Cut Et Chemise' and 'Coups Et Blessures.'

Some listeners thought their sound borrowed heavily from earlier French and English rock acts, which led to questions about originality. They kept putting out records anyway, following up with albums like 'Blonde Come' in 2009 and 'Long Courrier' in 2012. Their songs often dealt with straightforward themes of romance and frustration, delivered with a punchy, no-frills energy that worked well live.

Over time, their music incorporated more pop and electronic touches, but they stayed rooted in that basic rock setup. Tracks like 'Pas comme ça' and '1/4 D'heure' show how they could craft a hook without overcomplicating things. They were never trying to reinvent the wheel, just play it loud and with conviction.
