Editor's note

Beady Eye's brief, guitar-heavy post-Oasis run

Liam Gallagher's band after Oasis split, making two albums of big riffs and psychedelic touches.

For the classic Gallagher sound, 'The Morning Son' has that big, anthemic feel. 'Second Bite Of The Apple' shows the slightly more introspective side they tried on the second record.

They were the immediate next chapter after Oasis broke up, with Liam Gallagher's voice front and center over the kind of driving rock their fans expected. Songs like 'Flick Of The Finger' kept that swagger alive while letting the band stretch out a bit. It was a short-lived project, but it gave Gallagher a platform to keep singing while the Britpop era officially closed.

They formed in 2009 with most of the final Oasis lineup and released 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' in 2011. The second album 'BE' arrived in 2013 with more experimental moments before they quietly disbanded the following year.

Beady Eye formed in 2009 after Oasis split up, with Liam Gallagher on vocals, Gem Archer on guitar, Andy Bell on bass, and Chris Sharrock on drums. They put out two albums: 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' in 2011 and 'BE' in 2013. Their first single 'The Roller' had that familiar Gallagher swagger over a driving beat, while 'The Beat Goes On' and 'Flick Of The Finger' showed up on their second record.

Their sound kept the big guitar riffs and melodies you'd expect from people who'd been in Oasis, but they also tried some psychedelic touches here and there. The second album in particular had more experimental moments, with songs that felt a bit more introspective than their earlier work.

They never quite escaped the shadow of their previous band, and comparisons were constant. Gallagher's public persona didn't help matters either. After 'BE' came out, they played some shows but eventually called it quits in 2014.
