I Can Walk Through The Rain

Stranded, no way out, and all alone

Don't I know, don't I know 6 months it's been

Since a 10 by 10 was stuffed end to end with everything I own

I've been sleeping in the guest room

Yeah I've been sleeping anywhere they'll let me in

It's been driving me insane

And harder now than yesterday

But I can walk through the rain...

Because somewhere there's a seed

There's not a thing I can't endure

Just as long as I'm still sure

That there's a reason left unseen

No it don't change the way this feels

The sky it beats me just the same

Though I'd wish this cloud away

If my loss begets a gain

Then I can walk through the rain

Purpose, just a point and I'll be fine,

So what's it mean if there's a 1, 2 ,3

Who's other than me, with a word that rings at both ends of this time line

Still I've been yelling at the author

Why did you write my life this way

But pots aren't molded for the clay

Somehow it's good that's being made

So I can walk through the rain...

Somewhere there's a seed in need of streams that fall and drench us all

And make us wish for sunny skies and streets more dry

And someday there will be a tree

And I'd like to think that I might need

A little bit of shade, but who's to say

What's difference would that make

I've still gotta walk through the rain...
