Bedibê formed in São Paulo in 1984, with Carlinhos Brown and Mateus Aleluia at the center of the group. Their music pulled from samba, funk, and pop, though it didn't always fit neatly into those categories.
In 1998 they put out their first album, "Assim Caminha a Humanidade." One of the tracks from it, "Diálogo de Dois Amigos," became their best-known song. It's a ballad about friendship, written by Brown, that connected with people across Brazil.
Other songs like "Cantar de Pássaro" and "Desamparo" show the range of their work. They kept recording through the early 2000s, though their sound sometimes drew criticism for being unconventional.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
