Bedtime For Charlie formed in Manchester in the early 2000s, with Charlie Barnett on vocals and guitar. Their debut album 'Stars and Stripes' came out in 2003, followed by 'Airband' in 2005. That second album's title track became their most recognizable song, along with others like 'And That's Why I Wear Shorts' and 'Blackest Cup Of Coffee'.
They put out three more albums after 'Airband' - 'The First Narcoleptic Insomniac' in 2007, 'This Is Not the End' in 2010, and 'Time to Wake Up' in 2013. The band included Rich Quinney on bass, Matt Wood on drums, and Matt Holmes on keyboards.
Barnett's public comments sometimes stirred discussion around topics like mental health and the music industry. The band broke up in 2014.
