Archive material and source history

Begin Again formed in Los Angeles with Michael Sarver on vocals and guitar, Andrew McMahon on vocals and piano, Zach Rogue on guitar, and Jason Suwito on bass. Their first album, "Lost in the Echo," came out in 2009. In 2012, Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with leukemia, and the band kept playing with guest musicians filling in for him while he was treated. They put out their second album, "All I Want Is More," around that time.

Later records like "The Way We Were" in 2015 and "No Place Like This" in 2018 showed the band working through a mix of alt-rock with some pop and soul touches. Their songs often dealt with heartbreak and loss, as you can hear in tracks like "I Ws Nvr Yr Grlfrnd" and "Pop Punk's Dead You're Next."
