Being formed in Los Angeles in 1994 around Scott Amendola, Jeff Parker, and Michael Coleman, with guitarist Ben Chasny joining soon after. Their debut album, simply called 'Being,' established their approach to sound, which draws from jazz, ambient textures, and improvisation.
