Bellois formed in São Paulo in 2017 with Rafael Carneiro on vocals and guitar, Carol Novaes on vocals and keyboards, Thiago Flores on drums, and Rodrigo Abrantes on bass. They put out their first album, Por Você, the following year, which included the song Me Diz.
In 2019, some listeners took issue with the lyrics to their track Ameaça, calling them misogynistic. The band issued a statement to clarify and apologize. They released a second album, Tudo Bem, in 2020.
