Bellylove

Bellylove formed in Minneapolis in the mid-1990s with brothers Dan and Paul Erickson and Brian Myren. Their sound mixed alternative rock with folk and electronic touches, which got them noticed on the local scene. Their debut album 'Expressions of Love' came out in 1996 and drew some criticism for its unconventional approach alongside the praise.

Their 1999 single 'Back To Freedom' became a breakout hit, with its anthemic quality reaching a wider audience. The band kept recording after that, putting out albums like 'Departure' in 2001 and 'Bloom' in 2005. They had to navigate some internal tensions along the way, which eventually led to lineup changes.
