Belo Riussen formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1996, with vocalist Rodrigo Lima among the founding members. They started playing in local bars and community events, building a following through those early shows.
Their 2002 debut album 'Superar' included the song 'Superar Nos Bailes da Vida,' which became their most recognized track. The band's lyrics often touched on social and economic themes, which drew both criticism and praise at different times.
After that first album, they released several others including 'Somos Todos Iguais,' 'Na Direção do Vento,' and 'Voar.' Their music incorporated elements of reggae alongside Brazilian rhythms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
