Bellô Veloso formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2005 around singer-songwriter Bellô Veloso and guitarist Caio Martinez. Their debut album came out in 2009, followed by others like 'Amor de Verdade' in 2012 and 'Alma Gêmea' in 2015. The band's sound draws from samba and bossa nova, heard in songs like 'Amante amado' and 'Desde que o samba é samba'.
Their music sometimes touched on personal themes that sparked discussion, but they kept working. Over time, the lineup included other musicians like bassist Daniel Cabrera, drummer Alex Rocha, and keyboardist Leonardo Rolim. They've played at places like the Montreux Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall.
Beyond performing, Bellô Veloso has been involved with social causes. Their catalog includes the 2018 album 'A Vida É um Sopro' and tracks such as 'Amor destrambelhado' and 'Lágrima'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
