Benny Joy formed in Los Angeles in 2002, with Ben Harrison on vocals and guitar, Jake Matthews on guitar, Emily Carter on bass, and Sam Wilson on drums. Their debut EP, "The Spin," came out in 2004 and included the track "Spin the Bottle." They followed with albums like "Echoes of You" in 2007, "Into the Blue" in 2010, and "Under the Surface" in 2014.
Their songs include "Cold Cold Woman," "Crash The Party," and "Little Red Book." The band's lineup remained consistent through these releases, with Harrison handling most of the songwriting and fronting the group.
In 2006, a planned tour was canceled due to a legal issue with their former label. Harrison's outspoken comments sometimes drew attention, but the group kept recording and putting out music through the 2010s.
