Bentham

Bentham was a band that formed in Seattle in the early 2000s, with Liam Wilson on vocals and guitar and Stefan Babcock on bass. They played a lot of gigs around that time, working on songs that didn't fit neatly into one genre. Their track 'Chicago' became something people talked about, partly because of its haunting melody and partly because Wilson never really explained what it was about.

That song, along with others like 'Bokukara Kimi E' and 'White', gave them a following in alternative circles. The ambiguity in their lyrics meant listeners could take what they wanted from the music, which became a feature of their work.
