His 1981 song "Can't Hold On Forever" became his most recognizable track. He released several albums through the 1980s and 1990s, including "Hearts on the Line" in 1984 and "Stone Cold" in 1987.
In the 1980s, LaBarge was involved in a legal dispute over the rights to his music. He continued performing and recording, putting out a live album called "Live at the Club" in 2002.
