Beth Jeans Houghton started writing songs as a teenager in Newcastle, England, where her father played jazz. She formed Beth Jeans Houghton and the Hooves of Destiny in 2006, and they put out an album called 'Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose' in 2010. The band broke up a few years later.
Her solo single 'Atlas' came out in 2014 and got some attention. She's released a few albums since then, including a self-titled one in 2016 and 'New Moon' in 2019. Songs like 'Carousel' and 'Humble Digs' show her leaning toward folk sounds.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
