Beto Cuevas was born Alberto Cuevas in Santiago, Chile in 1967. He joined his cousin Pedro Frugone, Rodrigo Aboitiz, and Andrés Bobe to form the band La Ley in 1987. Their sound mixed rock and pop with Latin rhythms, and they built a following across South America.
La Ley's international breakthrough came with their 1993 album 'Doble Opuesto.' The single 'Háblame' became an anthem and pushed the band to wider recognition. They followed with albums like 'Invisible' in 1995 and 'Vértigo' in 1998. The band went on hiatus in 2005, and Cuevas started a solo career.
Cuevas released his first solo album, 'Miedo Escénico,' in 2008. Songs like 'Vuelvo' and 'Algo' showed his work outside the band. La Ley reunited for live shows in 2014.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
