Beto Vega

Beto Vega fronted the Latin rock band A Puño Limpio, which formed in Mexico City in the early 1980s with bassist Patricio Quiroz and drummer Esteban Garcia. The band's name translates to 'With a Clean Fist,' and their debut album came out in 1984. Their song 'A Puño Limpio' became a hit, known for its anthemic chorus and lyrics that connected with listeners.

Vega's father was a classical guitarist, and he grew up listening to artists like Carlos Santana, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones. A Puño Limpio's music blended rock, blues, and Latin rhythms, and they released several albums that found audiences in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. The band's outspoken views on social and political issues sometimes led to friction with authorities.
