Beyries

Beyries formed in Paris in the late 1990s, originally as a trio with guitarist Eric Serra, bassist François Delabrière, and vocalist Laurent Boutonnat. They released their self-titled debut album in 1998, which introduced their acoustic folk sound with some rock and electronic touches.

Their 2000 album "Au-delà Des Mots" gave them their signature song of the same name, a track that became particularly well-known in France. They followed it with "Lumières d'Automne" in 2003. Other notable songs in their catalog include "J'aurai Cent Ans" and their version of "To Love Somebody."

Beyries' music often deals with themes of love and human experience through poetic French lyrics. While some critics found their approach sentimental, their albums found an audience and charted in France. The group's sound centered on acoustic arrangements, with Serra's fingerstyle guitar work and Boutonnat's vocals carrying most of the material.
