BF 42 formed in São Paulo in 2004, with Carlão on vocals and guitar, Beto on bass and vocals, Edu on drums, and Pedrinho on guitar. They started playing in underground venues around the city, working out their mix of hardcore, thrash, and rap. Their first album, 'Olho por Olho,' came out in 2005, followed by 'Bicho Solto' in 2008 and 'O Lado Oculto da Lua' in 2013.
Their song 'Sinônimo de Capacidade É Acreditar' became something of an anthem for them. The lyrics often touch on social issues and personal struggles, drawn from their own experiences and what they saw around them in São Paulo. Carlão's vocals and guitar work became a recognizable part of their sound.
