Big Boi, born Antwan André Patton in Savannah, Georgia in 1975, met André 3000 at Tri-Cities High School in 1992. Together they formed OutKast, whose debut album 'Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik' arrived in 1994.
OutKast released several more albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including 'ATLiens' in 1996, 'Aquemini' in 1998, 'Stankonia' in 2000, and the double album 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below' in 2003. After the duo went on hiatus around 2006, Patton began working as a solo artist under the name Big Boi.
His solo work includes songs like 'Apple Of My Eye,' 'Kill Jill' with Killer Mike and Young Jeezy, and 'Higher Res' featuring Jai Paul. These tracks continue the rhythmic and collaborative approach he developed with OutKast, though with his own distinct voice.
