Big Dog came out of São Paulo's underground in the early 2000s. They had a reputation for loud, aggressive shows and lyrics that didn't pull punches. When labels passed on them, they put out their debut album 'Porra Louca' themselves in 2004, and it found an audience anyway.
Their song 'Ta Foda Ser Foda' became a Brazilian rock anthem after they signed with Deckdisc and released the album of the same name in 2006. The track's blunt, resilient message connected with people, even as the band's explicit content drew criticism from some quarters. They kept putting out records like 'Uma Noite em Contagem' and 'Rock, Sexo e Drogas,' and their live shows continued to draw big crowds.
