Bikini

Bikini formed in Budapest in 1982 with D. Nagy Lajos on vocals, Németh Alajos on guitar, Déri Zoltán on bass, and Miklós Bálint on drums. They started with a punk and new wave sound that gradually shifted toward something more melodic and accessible. Their 1988 album 'Kopaszkutya' included the song 'Őszinte Szerelem,' which became a major hit in Hungary.

That song's popularity carried them through the 1990s, though their lyrics sometimes drew attention for touching on social themes. They recorded other tracks like 'Félnóta,' 'Gyermekmese,' and 'Telihold' that became part of their set. The band's lineup stayed consistent through those years, with Nagy Lajos writing most of the material.

Bikini's music from that period remains familiar in Hungary, where 'Őszinte Szerelem' is still played regularly. Their earlier, rougher sound isn't what most people remember; it's the melodic rock from the late '80s and '90s that stuck.
