He worked with musicians like guitarist João Bosco and drummer Neném in his band, and collaborated with artists including Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Milton Nascimento. His songs sometimes drew accusations of plagiarism and commercialism, which he addressed by saying his music reflected his own experiences.
Beyond "Eu Amo Demais," he recorded other tracks such as "Estatua de Sal," "Pérola Negra," and "Roda Viva." His albums did well on Brazilian charts during his career.
