Bjob

Bjob formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1980s, started by brothers Pedro Luís and Fred. They played local bars and festivals for years before their 1996 album 'Histórias Vividas' gave them a wider audience. The title track became a hit, and the band kept making records like 'Mundo Bjob' and 'Canção do Amanhã' into the early 2000s.

Pedro Luís sang and wrote lyrics that sometimes stirred up debate, but the music itself mixed rock with Brazilian styles like samba. Songs like 'Adolescente' and 'Fim de Tarde' show that blend, direct, melodic tunes that didn't sound quite like other bands at the time.

The lineup stayed mostly steady with guitarist Paulo Rafael, bassist Uaná, and drummer Ivan Santos. They worked with Milton Nascimento, Chico César, and Marisa Monte on occasion, which brought different textures to their records. Bjob's shows were known for their energy, and they kept playing even when the industry wasn't paying much attention at first.
