Bjørnskov formed in Oslo in the early 2000s around vocalist and songwriter Bjørn Marius Øyehaug. He started performing solo as 'Bjørn' before bringing in guitarist Magnus Eliassen, bassist Anders Møller, and drummer Even Granås to create the full band.
Their 2005 debut album 'Lyset' got some attention, but it was the 2008 follow-up 'Lysår' that really connected. The title track 'Lysår' became a radio staple in Norway, with its spacious sound and lyrics touching on distance and time. Another song from that period, 'Vi er helte,' also appears among their most recognized tracks.
In 2010, bassist Anders Møller left the group. The existing history mentions creative differences, but doesn't elaborate on what came after that point.
