Just Don't Know

When the timing and delivery is crucial

to the meaning that comes out of me

I don't need to make the blind see

But I doubt if they could tell me

what the color be

It's superficial but reality

And it's good and it's bad

And it's freedom of expression, agreed . . .

The fine line is human interpretation

To reduce and redefine

The rehumanization

And the clock strikes down

And the people are free

and what we do with the freedom

Is what comes sweeping over me

The funny thing change

Will not change the mission

Cuz the hope that isn't there

Is only part of the condition

And the peace runs low

As the word runs free

Until destruction is the function

Of creative insincerity

And this is what we are

But maybe what we should not be

So why is it always pouring out of me?

Well, I just don't know

It's pathetic and aesthetic

But I'm ready to go

Man is the measure of all thing, they say

But the standard for the measurement

Keeps moving away

Aristotle saw the world

But he couldn't see through it

Socrates drank the poison

But society drew it

and we go down, down, down

To the center of town

With all the hookers and the johns

Just standing around

The young men sell crack

To subsidize their education

They get ten long years

To graduate their alienation

And the clock strikes down

And the people are free

and they say I don't really mind

Cuz I got mine for me

And you say that it's the world

But it shouldn't use a part of me

You say it's only human

It looks more like inhumanity

And the clock strikes down

And the path is unknown

Until the fuse that holds society

together is blown

What the world needs now is love in the heart

And Christ to bring together

What's falling apart
