Archive material and source history

Blackhawk was a country trio from Nashville that formed in the early 1990s. The group consisted of Henry Paul on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Van Stephenson on lead guitar, and Dave Robbins on bass, with all three contributing vocals and songwriting. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1994.

Their biggest hit was "Every Once In A While," which became a country radio staple. Other songs like "Ships Of Heaven" and "Always Have Always Will" showed their knack for melodic, harmony-driven country. They released seven studio albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including Strong Enough in 1996 and Love and Gravity in 1999.

The group faced some legal issues with their record label in the mid-1990s, which they eventually resolved before continuing to record and perform.
