Blanched started in 2015 with vocalist and guitarist Matheus Santos and bassist Giovanna Moreira. Their sound was raw and intimate, which caught on in the Brazilian indie scene. In 2017, they put out the single "Cada Um," and its chorus about individuality became a talking point, drawing both praise and criticism that pushed them into a wider spotlight.
They released their first album, Despertar, in 2018, and followed it with Infinito in 2021. The second album brought in some electronica and ambient touches. Drummer Tiago Andrade joined the group in 2019. Songs like "Casa de Descanso" and "Mandrágora" are among their top tracks.
