Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones started working together in 1997. Their first single was called "Sunrise," and it found an audience in Germany's underground electronic scene. That early response led them to form Blank & Jones as a proper duo.
They've put out albums like In Da Mix in 1999, Substance in 2002, and Relax in 2006. Their track "A Forest" features Robert Smith of The Cure, and they've also released versions of songs like "I Love You" and "Mind Of Wonderful." The music tends to move between trance, progressive house, and more ambient textures without settling too firmly in one lane.
In 2001 they dealt with a legal dispute over rights to some of their material, which got resolved without stopping their output. They kept releasing albums through the 2010s, including Monument in 2011 and Solace in 2018.
