Blind Desire formed in Belgium in 1991, playing melodic death metal. Their most well-known track is "Darkened." The band was led by frontman Bart Vandereyken until his departure in 2015, which he attributed to personal and creative differences.
In 2008, the group faced accusations of far-right sympathies over a symbol on an album cover. They denied supporting extremist views, calling the symbol purely artistic. Blind Desire released six full-length albums over their career, with other members including Peter van den Berg on guitar, Koen Vanhoutte on bass, Frederik Vanmassenhove on drums, and Jan Van der Kelen on guitar.
