Archive material and source history
Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra started as a side project from the German power metal band Blind Guardian. In 2019, vocalist Hansi Kürsch put it together with conductor Matthias Ulmer and other musicians to mix metal with orchestral arrangements. Their first album, 'Legacy of the Dark Lands', came out that same year and included reworked versions of older Blind Guardian songs like 'The Bard's Song' and 'Mirror Mirror'.
A year later, they released 'Comets and Prophecies', which leaned further into fantasy themes. The title track, 'Comets And Prophecies', drew inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien's writings. The lineup featured Hansi Kürsch on vocals, violinist Christian 'Blackfire' Moos, and cellist Max Lilja, among others.
