Blood Drift formed in Birmingham, England in the early 2000s. Their debut album 'Ashes of the Damned' came out in 2006, followed by 'Shadows of the Abyss' in 2008. The band included Darius Cain on vocals, Ethan Voss on guitar, Mallory James on bass, and Cyrus Blake on drums.
In 2010 they released the concept album 'Last Reign,' which included the songs 'Thrusting Plagues' and 'Winds of Persecution.' The album was well-received, but during a performance of the title track, Darius Cain collapsed on stage. He had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and died not long after.
Blood Drift disbanded following Cain's death. A posthumous album called 'The Eternal Void' was released in 2012.
