Blood or Whiskey formed in Dublin in 1996 with Michael O'Brien on vocals and guitar, Frank Murray on mandolin and vocals, and Des Foley on bodhrán and vocals. Their debut album 'The Bitter End' came out in 1998 and included the track 'A Holy Trinity.'
They played a mix of traditional Irish music with rock and punk elements. The band toured in Europe and the United States after that first album.
Later albums included 'Heart of Stone' in 2001 and 'Burn' in 2004. Des Foley left the band in 2001, and Martin Furey joined on drums. Other songs in their catalog include 'Always Remember' and 'Bucharest.'
