Blood Revolt formed in the early 2000s with a Midwest lineup that included vocalist M.J. Deschamps. Their debut EP 'Summon the Hordes' came out in 2004, but by 2006 most of the original members had left. Deschamps and bassist Matt Evans rebuilt the band with new guitarist Chris Benedict and drummer Danny Conley.
Their music drew criticism for violent themes, particularly the song 'Bite The Hand, Purge The Flesh.' The band maintained their lyrics reflected existing darkness rather than promoted it. Other tracks like 'Dead City Stare' and 'God's Executioner, Praise Be' continued in that aggressive vein.
The music remained uncompromising even as the personnel shifted around Deschamps and Evans.
