Blue Encount formed in Hokkaido in 2012, originally as a trio with vocalist and guitarist Tsuyoshi Eguchi, bassist Yuta Nakamura, and drummer Junnosuke Kajiwara. They released their debut album 'Flag' in 2015, which helped bring them wider attention. Guitarist Ryo Nozawa joined the lineup in 2017.
Their song 'Polaris' served as the theme for the anime series 'Fire Force' and became one of their most recognizable tracks. Other songs like 'Day By Day' and 'Freedom' have also been part of their catalog. The band's 2020 album was also titled 'Polaris'.
They've maintained a consistent presence in Japanese rock, with later releases including a 2022 album. Their music tends toward anthemic rock with straightforward energy, built around Eguchi's vocals and the band's guitar-driven arrangements.
