Blue Lips

Blue Lips formed in London's underground club scene around the duo of Serafina "Sera" Mazza and Alistair "Ash" Bell. Their early sound came together in those dim backrooms, with Sera's vocals and Ash's guitar work creating something that felt both raw and atmospheric. They put out a debut EP called "Whispers in the Night" that found an audience looking for something outside the mainstream.

Their first full album was titled "Keep Yourself Awake," which gave its name to one of their better-known songs. The record had a certain mood to it, built on lingering melodies and textured arrangements. They followed it with other albums like "All Night Long" and "Lost in Translation," where they began folding in more electronic and ambient touches.

Some of their lyrics and Sera's public comments drew attention that wasn't always positive. A song called "Forever Lost" got people talking about mental health in ways that made some uncomfortable, and another track, "The Machine," took aim at the music industry in terms sharp enough to cause a bit of a stir. They were a band that seemed to operate with a certain disregard for whether they were pleasing everyone.
