Background notes

Archive material and source history

Bo Cooper came out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and started playing with local bands as a teenager. His first single, "Don't Call It Love," came out in 1992 and did well on the charts. He put out several albums after that, including Real in 1994, Love Your Way in 1996, Unbreakable in 1999, Phoenix in 2002, and Soul Survivor in 2005.

He worked with a band that included Tommy Lewis on lead guitar, Billy Martin on bass, and James Carter on drums. There were some legal and label disputes along the way, but he kept recording through them.
