Bobby Newberry

Bobby Newberry grew up in rural Georgia, where he heard gospel and country music early on. He moved to Nashville in his twenties, but his approach didn't quite fit the mainstream country scene there. He kept working on his songs and playing local shows.

In 2015, he released his debut album 'Flight From Paris.' The title track, a ballad about longing and loss, connected with listeners and became his most recognized song. The album received some critical attention and found an audience.

Newberry's style and lyrics sometimes drew criticism from parts of the country music establishment for being too personal or unconventional. He generally kept writing about the themes he wanted to explore, regardless of whether they matched industry expectations.
